  • Music therapy at IHIF rehab centre, Delhi

Continuing research reveals the manifold ways in which music activates different brain centres. Its therapeutic nature, calming effect on nerves, and capacity to bring enjoyment are recognized, particularly for individuals facing challenges or disabilities.
Studies have illuminated how music can engage dormant brain centres following accidents or strokes. It sheds light on the myriad benefits music offers to the human mind and body, especially in the realm of neuro-rehabilitation through diverse neural pathways. To harness this therapeutic potential, IHIF has partnered with "The Music Therapy Trust" to provide regular sessions to patients and individuals affected by Brain Trauma at the IHIF Rehab Centre situated in the Delhi Commonwealth Women’s Association (DCWA) Campus. Currently, patients participate in Music Therapy sessions twice a week.

  • Donation of assistive gears and wheelchairs

With backing from several philanthropic organizations such as HT Parekh Foundation, OneKindAct, John Bissell Foundation, Citi Group, among others, IHIF has been actively providing wheelchairs and various assistive devices like crutches and callipers to survivors of traumatic injuries from marginalized segments of society. • Road safety awareness

One of IHIF's primary goals is to promote awareness regarding safe road usage. To achieve this objective, it regularly organizes workshops focusing on safe driving practices and emphasizes the importance of wearing helmets.
With the corporate social responsibility (CSR) support from ICICI Lombard, HT Parekh Foundation/HDFC, Apollo Foundation, and Citigroup, IHIF has successfully educated over 130,000 children and parents. Additionally, it has distributed more than 70,000 helmets to children riding as passengers, especially those whose parents solely rely on two-wheelers for transportation. These impactful programs have been conducted across various locations, including Noida, New Delhi, Jodhpur, Ludhiana, Bihar, and Mumbai.

  • Peer mentoring

Peer Mentors are individuals who, having themselves coped with their condition and learned to navigate community resources, offer guidance to fellow patients in managing similar challenges and pursuing life goals. These goals may involve returning to school, achieving independent living, or resuming work post-injury. IHIF has collaborated with ESCIP Trust India to connect individuals using wheelchairs due to various ambulatory disabilities—such as traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury—with these Peer Mentors.
ESCIP's Peer Mentors impart crucial skills for wheelchair use and independent living through a transitional living program. Participants in this program also benefit from the services provided by IHIF's Rehab Centre in DCWA. Furthermore, ESCIP's Peer Mentors introduce mentees to adaptive sports communities and online support groups. This alliance has seen 55 patients transition into becoming Peer Mentors and active contributors to their communities.
