Health, Nutrition and Sanitation
The program focuses on enhancing access to nutritious food and building healthy communities in remote villages, particularly targeting malnourished children and pregnant or lactating mothers. We address the root causes of malnutrition by promoting sanitation, hygiene, and access to safe drinking water. Through nutrition camps, we identify malnourished children, educate parents on healthy eating using locally available foods, and refer children to Nutritional Rehabilitation Centres if needed. We also encourage kitchen gardens and support communities in setting them up, alongside installing safe drinking water systems and renovating public toilets to improve overall health.
-
Livelihood and Food Security
The programs focus on empowering economically marginalized and vulnerable communities by providing access to sustainable income-generating opportunities. Tailored to local demographics and needs, these initiatives promote climate-smart, green livelihoods and foster community mobilization through institution-building. Key strategies include transferring knowledge on innovative farming practices, supporting Integrated Farming and Natural Resource Management, and developing Rural Enterprises and Farmer Producer Organizations. We also facilitate market linkages, connect communities to government welfare schemes, and offer livestock and veterinary services, all aimed at improving food security, diversifying income sources, and enhancing quality of life.
