Acting as system changers, the initiative demonstrated inclusive solutions through training, private-sector partnerships, and innovative service delivery. Navigating bureaucratic processes, the focus was on the overlooked needs of vulnerable residents, resulting in the construction of community toilets, waste processing plants, and improved conditions for waste tank emptiers. Establishing Sanitation Committees empowered residents, and the efforts transitioned to long-term, municipality-led solutions, influencing replication and scaling due to guidelines, reports, and waste-management models.

The Landslip Programme
The LANDSLIP programme, an innovative multi-partner research initiative, enhances understanding of landslide occurrences, aiming to build resilience and save lives through risk avoidance and early warning systems. Focused on South Asia, the programme integrates meteorology, landscape, and society to assess multi-hazard landslide risks. In India, where landslides significantly impact over 12% of the country, the main triggers are extreme rainfall and earthquakes. LANDSLIP addresses challenges in predicting landslide occurrences and translating scientific data into effective forecasts, leveraging rainfall forecasting advancements and collaborating with national, state, and district-level authorities and NGOs in India.
