Protsahan, which means encouragement in Sanskrit, was founded in 2003 to advance and promote education and technical skills training for the benefit of all persons, particularly Read morewomen and girls, irrespective of religion, caste, class or community. In 2007, the trust launched the project of Kamalini Vocational Training Centre in some rented rooms in Shahpur Jat.Kamalini -a symbol of the women that we serve - encourages needy women to gain the skills and confidence they need to better support themselves and their families. The cheerful and open atmosphere welcomes our beneficiaries and the volunteers who help in the training. Volunteers also help design and market products the students make to turn their skills in to earning


Action

Protsahan uses a creative arts-based HEART model (Healing, Education, Art, Recovery, Technology) to work with children and adolescents who are at-risk or have experienced trauma, aiming to break the cycle of abuse and violence.

Since 2010, Protsahan has directly impacted over 828 girls aged 7-16 years through its Community Resource Centre, with 100% of girls reporting abuse before age 12 now showing positive understanding of their rights and improved educational outcomes.
