SERI Food Distribution
The Socio‑Economic Research Institute (SERI), a registered charitable trust in India under the Indian Trust Act of 1882, runs a vibrant Food Distribution initiative. As a core program, it delivers monthly ration kits—comprising rice, lentils, cooking oil, sugar, salt, and other essential staples—to socio-economically vulnerable families, including the elderly, women-headed households, and those with disabilities. Volunteers and community leaders rigorously identify beneficiaries to ensure fairness. For instance, a November 2023 distribution in Tamil Nadu served over 200 families, helping meet their nutritional needs and strengthening community resilience. This program is a key pillar of SERI’s mission to combat hunger and improve livelihoods.
