    Limited government resources exist for cancer patients in India. THF supports Hospice Bangalore, providing pain management and dedicated end-of-life care by doctors and staff. Palliative care for advanced cancer includes symptom detection, side effect management, and addressing psychological, social, and spiritual needs.

  • Community Outreach & Awareness

    At the Hans Foundation, we understand that reducing infant and maternal mortality, along with infectious diseases, relies on women's awareness, stakeholder engagement, better healthcare delivery, and efficient monitoring. Particularly emphasizing Maternal and Child Health, the Foundation actively spreads information to increase awareness regarding women's reproductive health, child immunization, anemia, cervical cancer, menstrual hygiene, and sanitation for adolescent girls.

  • Inclusive Education & Vocational training / Employment for PwDs

  • Rural Health Care through Hans Medical Mobile Units

    The Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) is an inventive healthcare delivery model addressing health disparities among vulnerable populations and rural individuals. Hans MMUs are equipped with a qualified MBBS Doctor, Nurse/Social Protection Officer, Pharmacist, Lab Technician, and Driver. Services encompass OPD, free medicines, diagnostics, counselling, preventive measures such as water testing, home visits for the elderly and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), plus referrals to tertiary care centers for critical cases.

  • Free Dialysis Support through Hans Renal Care Centers

    Hans Renal Care Centers (HRCC) offer no-cost dialysis for End-Stage Renal Disease and Chronic Kidney Failure patients. Dialysis, a costly and ongoing treatment, often demands rural patients to travel extensively. HRCCs, in collaboration with state governments, aim to establish units in each district/zone of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. A skilled team of nurses, technicians, and doctors is accessible 24/7, with visiting Nephrologists and physicians for OPD and emergencies.

  • The Hans Foundation Hospital – Tertiary Care

    Nestled in Uttarakhand's hills, Hans Foundation Hospitals provide inclusive, affordable, and high-quality healthcare. Notably, a 150-bed general hospital in Satpuli, Uttarakhand, established by the foundation and backed by RIST, addresses an area lacking government medical facilities. This comprehensive hospital caters to rural residents with emergency care, various specialties like surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, ENT, dermatology, ophthalmology, dental, and radiology.

  • Education

    Education stands at the core of the foundation's pursuits. Recognizing its role as both a human right and a vital public asset, the foundation tirelessly collaborates with community-level NGOs to ensure accessible education for children in remote areas. The approach encompasses battling illiteracy and curbing early dropouts. Beyond supporting schools, the initiatives introduce technology and collaborate with authorities to enhance education quality. Partnerships with educators, policymakers, parents, and communities aim to amplify successful programs and discover inventive solutions for students' growth. The school initiative strives for high school graduation readiness and seamless transition to undergraduate studies. In the pursuit of reducing the deficit in school availability, the foundation has backed school construction nationwide.

  • Midday Meal Programme

    The Midday Meal Scheme was initiated by the Indian Government, aiming to enhance school enrollment, retention, and attendance rates for children, alongside elevating their nutritional intake. Guided by similar principles, the foundation has championed three substantial midday meal initiatives. These endeavors have furnished wholesome meals to 75 schools, thereby benefiting over 10,000 children. The outcomes of these initiatives have been multifaceted. They have tackled classroom hunger, boosted enrollment and attendance, enhanced social interactions among different groups, combated malnutrition, and even fostered women's empowerment.

  • Fellowship and Scholarship Programmes

    The foundation joined forces with various organizations, aiming to establish avenues for all ambitious and deserving students originating from economically underprivileged backgrounds in Uttarakhand. Diligent endeavors have been made to identify leading colleges that provide BE/B.Tech/MBBS programs within the state. From these institutions, eligible students were chosen by evaluating their annual family income and academic achievements.

  • Technical skill building through vocational training

    Organizations backed by The Hans Foundation, such as Don Bosco Tech, have been instrumental in providing vocational training to the youth in northeastern India, aiming to equip them with opportunities for sustainable livelihoods. Likewise, in the northeast region, initiatives were extended to Tomorrow’s Foundation and Prayas JAC to foster youth employment generation. Throughout these efforts, a paramount focus was placed on meticulously screening and selecting candidates to ensure the most suitable individuals were chosen.
    The training curriculum was thoughtfully crafted after a comprehensive assessment of industry requirements. This training regimen encompassed a blend of classroom sessions, hands-on practical experience, and real-world industry placements to effectively prepare individuals.

  • Cochlear Implant Programme

    In December of 2013, The Hans Foundation inaugurated its Cochlear Implant initiative. The program's objective was to extend assistance to underprivileged families, ensuring that these children could afford the treatment and subsequently integrate into mainstream society.
    The Cochlear Implant procedure, encompassing the device, surgery, and rehabilitation, incurs a substantial expense of approximately Rs. 6-7 lakhs per ear, a financially prohibitive amount for both the economically disadvantaged and the middle class in India. Children with profound hearing impairment, particularly those hailing from financially challenged backgrounds, are identified and supported from across the nation.

  • Little Heart Programme

    Since 2013, the foundation has been driving the Little Heart Programme, which focuses on aiding children born with congenital heart ailments. Collaborating with eminent hospitals across the country, such as the National Heart Institute and Wockhardt Hospital, The Hans Foundation endeavors to instill renewed hope in underprivileged children afflicted by congenital heart disease and their families. The urgency of time is particularly paramount in such cases, as any delay can prove fatal for these young ones. In certain instances, immediate surgical intervention might be necessary within the initial hours or days of the child's life. Hence, early diagnosis and prompt management stand as pivotal components of this treatment approach.
