Programs

  • Nutrition For Life: The role of good food

CNI SBSS guarantees that communities have access to fundamental child healthcare, along with antenatal and postnatal education and care. The community nutrition initiatives strive to enhance maternal and child health, aligning with Government schemes such as the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS). Additionally, it assists communities in establishing kitchen gardens to supply nutritious food for families.

  • Economically empowered communities

CNI SBSS collaborates with members of marginalized communities to recognize their economic challenges and facilitate solutions to livelihood issues through diverse income generation activities and economic empowerment initiatives. At the village level, it engages with all stakeholders—men, women, and youth—to provide support for economic opportunities and assist in establishing secure livelihoods. Its approach encompasses enhancing capabilities, fostering asset building, promoting collectivization, and investing in local small businesses.

  • Clean and sanitised villages

CNI SBSS primarily focuses on rural sanitation in 100 revenue villages, primarily with Dalit and Tribal communities. The team ensures that these communities have access to safely managed drinking water services within a 500-meter radius of their households. It firmly believes that every household must have access to good toilet facilities.
We actively facilitate the construction of water infrastructures such as hand-pumps, tube-wells, and water taps, and rigorously test water quality. Through periodic community meetings and awareness campaigns, it educates the residents on good personal hygiene, sanitation practices, water conservation, preservation, and proper menstrual hygiene for women and girls.

  • All children in school

CNI SBSS strives to engage local communities, parents, children, and educators to ensure the active participation of all children in the education system. The aspiration is to provide every child with the necessary tools to unlock their full potential.
In pursuit of this goal, it supports government schools in implementing the Right to Education. It works towards ensuring the proper functioning of school management committees and meeting basic school infrastructure needs, including separate toilets, clean drinking water, mid-day meals, repaired boundary walls, and more.
