The Akshara Foundation works with Government agencies to supplement classroom education with child-friendly pedagogy among preschool and primary schoo Read morel children. The pedagogy involves activities that connect to the curriculum and children's day-to-day life. It believes that every child has a basic right to access quality education, do well in life and not be limited by the availability of resources. To maximise the reach of education to underprivileged children it takes the help of shared resources and technology in good measure, combining conventional teaching methods with technology to create teaching and learning innovations for both teachers and children alike.

Ganitha Kalika Andolana(GKA)
StatePartnering with the Governments of Karnataka and Odisha, the Foundation’s flagship programme ‘Ganitha Kalika Andolana’, makes learning mathematics simple and useful in daily life. Its key activities involve procuring math kits through Government orders, training teachers to adopt the pedagogy, promoting activity-based learning in the classrooms followed by monitoring and assessments.

Building Blocks
StateIs the Foundation’s application to provide access to mathematics learning at home for children from grades 1 to 5. It is a free app and is equipped to work on basic smartphones. Learning is enabled through a set of fun games which work both online and offline. The package is made available in 9 regional languages and has been developed with the help of Cisco.
