Chilume works in 20 govt. Anganawadi centers catering 574 children in Bangalore. over 95% of the children enrolled are children from lower economic background, daily wagers, migrants, construction workers parents, etc.

We strive to provide additional teacher to enhance holistic learning opportunities among children, provide nutrition kits to mal nourished children, give them child friendly learning materials, and improve the basic infrastructure such as repair and renovation of building, mural arts, toilets, fabrication, install play equipment. RHW etc. There is a great need for partnering with CSR team, like minded individuals, philoanthropologist, to really improve the outlook of govt. Anganawadi centers to motivate children's and provide learning ambience.

Chilume envisages the quality education for all. In this regard, we have adopted 7 govt. Schools catering more than 3000 students who are mostly coming from lower economic background. We are providing additional teachers, spoken English teachers, soft skill sessions, health awareness, education kits and most importantly improved basic infrastructure facilities such as toilets for boys and girls, construction of class rooms, RHW, RO units, and educational kits. By this we want to provide quality education and an enabling learning atmosphere for students enrolled in govt. schools.

Chilume runs 5 skill training centers for livelihood and job oriented training of marginalized women and unemployed youth in Bangalore urban slums and rural areas of Karnataka state. Annually 475 women are trained in these centers on basic garments and are being certified by KVIC and MSME dept of govt. of India. We also mobilize free sewing machines for successful women so that they can start their home based business and earn their livelihood. The programme is successfully implemented and has become a model programme in Bangalore rural and urban districts of Karnataka state

Chilume Continues to train urban slum women on various livelihood activities to increase their monthly income. In this regard, we have trained over 224 women on various household chemical products such as sanitary liquids, soap, washing powder, detergent soap, phenyl, hand and dish wash liquids, ,etc. They are selling their products in local market and directly in the communities. We are trying to find donors to provide them raw materials so that large quantities of household chemical products could be prepared and sold locally and on all online platform.
