To achieve this, a home with a fami Read morely-like atmosphere, a school with small entities of class formations and a vocational training centre for school drop-outs were created. The main aspect of bringing up these youths lies on liberating them from the various social stigmas, by treating them with respect, warmth and understanding. Shishu Mandir believes in an all-round education which aims at bringing every child to a sound self-esteem, using all inborn talents and acquiring a skill or professional knowledge which will carry them through a life in dignity. All education is free of any fees. The main criterion is poverty.

Programs

Shishu Mandir Vocational Training Centre
Shishu Mandir conducts skill training for school and college droup out youth who are above the age of seventeen and half. These courses are for 6 months duration and are completely free. We offer electrical, fitting with CNC, automobile, graphic design, finance and auditting training. Besides this, we provide training in 4 wheeler driving for women. After the skill training, Shishu Mandir places them in jobs with a minimum starting of Rs. 12,000/month.

Providing Free Education From Peschool to Graduation
Shishu Mandir selects 25 poorest children of the age of 4 years for preschool and education them upto graduation. We provide breakfast, lunch and evening snacks to all the children besides providing all educational materials and extra curricular activities free of cost. We take 70% girls and 30% boys. We take only one child from each family. We run two girls boardings to provide accomodation for those whose family situation is not condusive for their growth.

Shishu Mandir Children's Homes With Adoption
Shishu Mandir runs 2 children's homes comprising of 60 girls from the age of 6 to 18 years. These girls study in Shishu Mandir School and provided baording facilities through the year as the family situation is not condusive for them to stay. They are either total orphans or semi orphans. We also take care of 14 abandoned babies at a time. They are below the age of 1 and we tke care of them until they get adopted

Shishu Mandir Child Care Centre & Pregnant Women Healthcare
Shishu Mandir runs a day care centre for children of 3 years to 6 years of age for the migrant families from North Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Most of these families work as construction coolies. As they dont have any place to leave their children when they go to work, Shishu Mandir provides 90 children day care at a time. These children are offered free English medium kindergarten education for 3 yearsand then they are helped to join other schools. Some of them are brought to Shishu Mandir School to continue their education where it is completely free. Others are supported financially for joining other schools. The pregnant women of this locality are brought to this centre once a month wherein we bring a doctor and a nurse for their consultation. Shishu Mandir supports them with groceries and medicals.
