The Deaf Aid Society primarily supports the management, fund raising and running of the Sheila Kothavala Institute for the Deaf (SKID) School, which provides schooling for around 150-170 hearing impaired girls and boys from prep KG to 10th standard.

Support Facilities
The organisation offers a range of facilities to support its mission. It provides eight classrooms on each floor, accommodating 10-15 students per room. Additionally, there is a dedicated hall for extracurricular activities and a library for supplementary reading. It boasts 14 specially trained teachers, with an additional five non-approved teachers on the payroll, along with four non-teaching staff members. It also offers a playground equipped with an open-air theatre. In its pursuit of empowering the hearing-impaired community, the organisation relies on the support of volunteers and donors, including regular engagement with volunteers from various IT and business houses.
Milestones & Track Record
The Deaf Aid Society has been running the SKID School for many years, providing free education to hearing impaired children, with over 70% coming from families below the poverty line.
