KALAP TRUST is a charitable organisation based in Dehradun, committed to uplifting underprivileged communities in the remote upper Tons Valley of Mori Read more Tehsil, Uttarkashi District, Uttarakhand. It holds the distinction of being the pioneering force in this secluded and often overlooked region, initiating development work in the village of Kalap, which is accessible only by foot. Its central mission revolves around elevating the living standards of these communities through sustainable development initiatives. Its vision is focused on ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, livelihood opportunities, and fostering inclusivity for marginalized segments. It addresses diverse needs, providing high-quality direct services in education and healthcare. It collaborates closely with the local community to establish sustainable livelihood options. Over the years, the organisation has achieved notable milestones, including the launch of an 'AfterSchool' programme emphasizing STEM skills for local children, livelihood development projects centred on livestock, the establishment of a fully-equipped primary healthcare centre, and the empowerment of local farmers with technical knowledge and improved market access to enhance their livelihoods.

Key milestones include setting up an 'AfterSchool' program in 2015, starting livestock-based livelihood development in 2016, establishing the first fully-equipped primary healthcare center in the upper Tons Valley in 2017, and enhancing livelihood projects by upskilling local farmers from 2020 onwards.
