    Maharashtra

Through life skills training, IHMP is empowering young females in Maharashtra's rural and urban slums who are not married. The goal of the IHMP is to help these girls become more self-assured and assertive, as well as to help them learn how to deal with being married later in life and pursue their studies. The community-based instructors at the institute teach twice a week in the slums and communities where they live. The girls are taught about a variety of topics, including nutrition, first aid, sexual and reproductive health, changes in their bodies during adolescence, and personal hygiene.

  • Gender Sensitisation of Boys and Young Men

    States

    Maharashtra

Adolescent females are married off to very older young men. Many girls are victims of sexual and domestic violence, eve-teasing, and molestation. IHMP offers boys and young men both individual and group counselling. The initiative intends to reduce the frequency of gender inequitable behaviour and sexual and domestic violence, as well as to positively influence the attitudes of boys and young men.
