Astitva Samaj Vikas va Sanshodhan Sanstha Sangola (Astitva) is a non-political and secular NGO established in 2001 to address the challenges faced by Read morecommunities in the drought-prone districts of Solapur and Sangli, Maharashtra. Founded by youth from farming backgrounds, it aims to promote sustainable livelihoods by supporting marginalised groups in accessing natural resource-based opportunities. The organisation emphasises participatory development in health, livelihoods, and gender equity while fostering environmental and social harmony. Astitva raises awareness about gender discrimination and violence, advocates for the rights of Dalits, small farmers, and single women, and promotes women's active participation in local governance through Panchayati Raj. It also conducts research on oppressed communities, monitors rural health services, and champions the right to health, ensuring holistic support for vulnerable populations.
