Kshamata provides shelter to women who have been exploited, to start a new life by interacting with other inmates. It provides them with relevant trai Read morening and skilling opportunities to empower them with career options and self-sustenance. Through its Sahayog, Saksham, Swaadheen and Samudyam programmes the organisation aims to create independence among the survivors and enable their development and bring productive opportunities within their reach.

Programs

  • Kshamata Transformation Programme

    Kshamata Transformation Programme includes the following- Kshamata Transformation Center (KTC) and group stay units: A residential training centre that acts as a platform to demonstrate the process of deinstitutionalization. Here, the women undergo in-depth learning of life skills and vocational skills, both formal training and on-the-job learning. In addition, and probably most important, they learn job and society readiness. The transition towards independent living is done through a unique model of group stay units. This arrangement allows the women to learn the steps that are critical in transitioning towards living independently.

  • Kshamata Outreach Programme

    Kshamata works with women and girls in various state- and privately-run shelter homes (established by the Government of Maharashtra). The girls and women are provided some degree of counselling and awareness of alternative livelihoods that are possible, and potential career paths available to them. This intervention includes conducting a series of activities for initial engagement followed by counselling, training and undertake where possible, activities for earning income.
