The Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation's Research Department, functional since 2004, supports staff, research consultants, and students in initiating, implementing, and completing quality human research. It encourages in-house research and sponsored clinical trials. The foundation's main goal is to advance knowledge of various health conditions by promoting basic, clinical, biomedical, and translational research, strictly adhering to its trust deed. The department aids investigators in all aspects of research, ensuring high research standards and productivity through peer-reviewed papers. It supports diverse studies, including surveys, clinical data reviews, and trials, aiming to benefit community health. Currently, the department has 30 ongoing projects covering areas like eye conditions, gastrointestinal issues, neonatal care, public health, and more.

The Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation's Academic Centre at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital & Research Center (DMHRC) is managed by a Public Charitable Trust. It is accredited for Post Graduate Training Programmes (DNB, DrNB, and FNB) across 25 specialties. The foundation offers various fellowship programs in fields like neonatology, cardiac anaesthesia, and laryngology, as well as short-term fellowships in areas such as obstetric ultrasonography, gynaecological endoscopy, and infectious disease. It collaborates with teaching institutions in Pune, including Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Sanstha for nursing, Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences for medical technology, Deccan Education Society for physiotherapy training, and Modern College for Pharm D internships. The Academic Centre aims to provide comprehensive education and training to medical professionals.
