Programs

  • Teacher Support Programme

The Teacher Support Programme aspires to enhance the professional competence of educators by providing training and recognition to exceptional teachers. Training and re-training instill confidence, fortify skills, and contribute to improved classroom performance, reinforcing content knowledge and enhancing student learning outcomes. Recognizing outstanding teachers not only boosts their confidence but also acknowledges their significant role in shaping young minds. Notably, RILM has successfully trained 1,80,707 teachers with the active involvement of Rotary clubs nationwide. Additionally, 41,472 exceptional teachers have received the esteemed Nation Builder Awards, recognizing their valuable contributions.

  • E - Shiksha Programme

The E-learning initiative, "E-Shiksha," by RILM, aims to enhance the teaching-learning experience in Government and Government-aided schools. Utilizing curriculum-based audio-visual modules in local languages, the programme involves a single classroom installation featuring LCD projectors, LED TVs, or Smart LED TVs loaded with educational audio-visual software mapped to state curricula. This integrated solution, offline or online, has been successfully implemented in 27,368 schools nationwide. In collaboration with NCERT, RILM has extended its digital content to 15 million households, reaching 420 million users through Jio Mobile, 70.26 million households via TATA Sky, and initiating a million learning sessions on the DIKSHA portal.

  • Adult Literacy Programme

Aligning with the Government of India's Nav Bharat Shiksha Karyakram, Rotary India Literacy Mission (RILM) aspires to contribute to making 10 crore adults literate by 2027. In collaboration with the Government, RILM employs a two-fold strategy, urging participation from all Indians, particularly students of class VI and above. The joint endeavour aims to achieve total literacy across India, ensuring that every adult attains literacy by actively engaging in this nationwide initiative.

  • Child Development Programme

The Child Development Programme, Asha Kiran, by Rotary India Literacy Mission, focuses on reintegrating out-of-school children from socially and economically disadvantaged communities into mainstream state-funded primary/elementary schools. Targeting those who have never been enrolled, dropped out, or exhibited irregular attendance, the programme ensures their retention through necessary grooming. Under Asha Kiran, RILM has effectively enrolled 50,541 out-of-school children through 34 NGOs, spanning 15 states, contributing to the broader objective of enhancing access to education for vulnerable communities.

  • Adult Literacy Programme

Beyond providing functional literacy courses, Rotary India Literacy Mission's Adult Literacy Programme strives to establish a supportive ecosystem for socially and economically disadvantaged adults. This ecosystem aims to facilitate opportunities for a dignified and sustainable livelihood through the Skill Development initiative. By collaborating with Governmental and non-governmental entities, the programme leverages available schemes to offer training on new skills or enhance existing ones for neo-literate and literate adults. The initiative has successfully trained and placed over 1500 women and young individuals in jobs, contributing to socio-economic empowerment and sustainable development.
