"Saksham Shikshan" is a targeted program for students in grades 1 to 5, focusing on Language and Mathematics proficiency. It begins with a pretest to identify students needing assistance and groups them by proficiency levels. Tailored instruction is delivered in both their mother tongue and Marathi for one hour daily. The curriculum aligns with the students' mother tongue, supported by structured 'Saksham Shikshan' books and classroom libraries.

To foster a love for learning, the program includes songs, plays, stories, and various activities like Children Gatherings, Baal Panchayats, contests, picnics, and special recognitions. Educator training is a regular feature to enhance teaching skills and innovation.

Community, School Management Committees (SMCs), schools, and the Education Department actively participate in the program's success.

This program has a dual objective: to empower youth and women for self-reliance and to equip them with essential life, employment, and career development skills. It achieves this by organizing them into Self-Help Groups (SHGs), actively involving them in thrift and credit activities, and initiating income-generating projects. Additionally, skill-based training is provided to youth, enhancing their capabilities and ensuring their holistic development.

This program takes a proactive approach to combat gender-based violence by actively engaging boys and men in the community. It focuses on two key areas:

    1. Engaging Boys and Men: The program actively involves boys and men in the community to address and mitigate gender-based violence. By promoting positive masculinities and advocating for gender justice, it seeks to transform social norms and behaviors, ultimately reducing instances of gender-based violence.

    2. Promoting Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH): In addition to addressing violence, the program tackles the stigmatization surrounding menstrual, sexual, and reproductive health. It does so through open and constructive conversations that aim to create a supportive and accepting environment. The ultimate goal is to normalize menstruation, destigmatize related health issues, and promote better menstrual health and hygiene practices among women and girls in the community.
