  • Since

    2006

Samatol Foundation works to reunite children who have run away or become displaced across India with their families. It also helps them access educati Read moreon and job training to build independent futures. The organisation identifies children at major railway stations in Maharashtra—including Mumbai CST, Dadar, Kurla, Thane, Pune, Bhusaval, and Nagpur—with the help of volunteers. Through counselling, children are guided toward safer choices to avoid dangerous situations. Their rehabilitation happens in two ways: either they return to their families or move into safe hostels where they can attend school. The foundation believes in the complete development of every child, making sure they study in their native language, stay in their home state, and remain connected to their family. To protect children effectively, Samatol collaborates with key groups, including the Women and Child Development Department, Police, Child Welfare Committees, Juvenile Justice Boards, and Child Helpline (1098). By working together, these groups create a strong system of care and safety for vulnerable children.

Programs

  • Rehabilitation of Children on Railway Stations

Samatol Foundation focuses on reuniting runaway or lost children found at railway stations with their families. Children are first brought to a safe shelter and Manparivartan Camp, where they receive value-based guidance, informal education, and vocational training. This holistic approach helps rebuild confidence before reintegration. Since 2006, over 8,000 children have been successfully reunited. Efforts continue to expand operations across major railway junctions in Maharashtra to reach more children in need.
