The Society For Door Step School aims to provide compulsory primary education for all underprivileged children for up to 14 years of age. The programm Read moree is structured to address three main issues namely non-enrollment, wastage and stagnation. The organisation strives to improve literacy skills and the overall development of children by introducing enhanced learning through facilities which include Educational Activity Centres and Community Learning Centres which offer a quiet place to study along with computer classes, science experiment labs, a reading room and study classes. Further, the initiative School on Wheels, is a bus which is equipped with all classroom supplies including a computer, TV, DVD player and educational audio-visual learning material to serve as mobile classrooms. The bus reaches out to children in remote locations or construction sites where even a temporary classroom cannot be built. Its main vision is to use primary education to focus on the overall development of children and strive towards inclusiveness in due course. The organisation makes its programmes available to all by running both morning and evening batches which are provided at feasible locations which include slums/pavements/streets.
