Vidhayak Sansad(VS) works in the rural regions of Maharashtra to empower marginalised people, Dalits and tribes. It strives to fill gaps that Governme Read morent schemes are unable to service and motivates the rural poor to be self-reliant. The founders of the organisation established it to empower tribal labourers who had fallen into debt and were working for landlords to pay off their debts living in poverty and in exploitation. It later expanded its services to encompass the rural poor, also working with underprivileged youth of Mumbai’s urban slums. For its services, Vidhayak Sansad has been presented with many awards such as the Barrister Nath Pai Youth Award, Malati Madake Award, Sane Guruji Smruti Award, The International Anti-Slavery Award, Sanmitrakar S. P. Joshi Smruti Award, The Pillars Of Hindustani Society, Sudha Tai & Sadanand Varde Social Service Award, Maharashtra Kanya Award, Late. Kamlakar Thanekar Social Award and Rotary Club Award.

Programs
-
Human Rights Training Programme
It conducts training programmes empowering the underprivileged community members to make them aware of their human rights and protect them against any such violations.
The training helps these communities to know about their individual rights, how the legal system functions and how to go about fighting for their rights without resorting to violence.
-
Women Empowerment Programme
Vidhayak Sansad’s women empowerment programme fights to remove discrimination and abuse against women. Its Mahila Thingi(Women’s Spark) initiative organises women into groups and creates awareness of their rights guiding them on how to secure them.
It provides them with basic knowledge about policing, laws and governance and also works to connect the women to Government welfare schemes and organise them into self-help groups to gain access to micro finances.
-
Education Programmes
Its education programmes aim to reach children who have no access to proper schooling. Through its Bal Sanghatana, Mahatma Phule Education Guarantee Scheme and Vasti School Scheme the organisation conducts classes and play centres in nearby villages, helps provide education to children of migrant workers and also provides residential education to children from remote areas of the State.
The organisation also operates residential schools, especially for girls from poverty-stricken minority tribes who are sent to work rather than study.
-
Malnutrition Eradication Programme
This programme seeks to supplement Government schemes already being implemented in the Mokhada block. It strives to connect the underprivileged to Government run employment guarantee schemes so that seasonal migration is avoided.
It also works alongside public delivery systems, health agencies and Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) to reduce the cases of malnutrition.
-
Agricultural Programme
It works to rehabilitate bonded labourers who have claimed back their lives from the clutches of corrupt landlords by organising them into cooperative farms, setting up a revolving credit fund and bringing in experts to tender relevant advice.
It managed to secure forest land and water for needy tribal families to live and flourish. To reduce the migration of tribals the organisation is organising them into groups, assisting them to avail benefits of government-designed schemes, helping them with a selection of crops, availability of markets and providing training to farmers.
