  • Medical Camps

    District

    Since 1975, the organization has been actively conducting a wide range of medical camps across various locations in the surrounding regions, totaling over 300 camps to date. Among these, several specialized surgical camps stand out, including those for mitral valvotomy, epilepsy, asthma, cataract and squint correction, tympanoplasty, polio and deformity correction, angiography and angioplasty, oral cancer screening, and mammography with pap smear testing.

    Currently, the organization is focused on conducting cancer detection camps. In partnership with the health department, they have launched the 'Cancer Free Latur' initiative. As part of the project, ASHA workers conduct home visits to screen residents for symptoms of cancer. Suspected cases are referred to primary health centers for evaluation by VHL medical experts, and those needing further investigation are brought to VHL for diagnostic tests and definitive treatment.

    Vivekanand Hospital has consistently led the way in providing rescue, relief, and rehabilitation services during natural disasters. Over the years, the hospital has actively contributed to relief efforts during several major calamities, including:

  • Matoshri Old Age Home

    District

    Vivekanand Hospital has been operating the Matoshri Old Age Home since 1998, in collaboration with the Social and Welfare Department of the Government of Maharashtra. Established to provide care for elderly individuals above 60 years who lack family support, the facility began with a 2-hectare land grant and a construction fund of ₹60 lakhs from the government.

    Located near Arvi village, just 5 km from Latur on the Ambajogai road, the old age home features 32 rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious dining hall, accommodating around 60 senior residents. A dedicated team of over 10 staff members ensures round-the-clock care. The monthly operational cost is approximately ₹2.5 lakhs, with generous support received through regular donations from kind-hearted individuals in both cash and kind.
