Programs

  • LetsTalkTigers Campaign

India's biodiverse forests house a remarkable array of life forms. WCT utilizes the iconic tiger as a symbol to raise awareness about its natural history, the challenges it faces, and the necessary solutions for its long-term survival. By inspiring people to celebrate and protect the tiger and its habitat, WCT aims to foster active engagement in conservation efforts.

  • Save Our Tigers Campaign

The Save Our Tigers campaign, a collaboration between WCT, NDTV, Aircel, and Sanctuary Asia, has achieved remarkable success as a conceptualizer and implementer. Spanning four seasons, the campaign has reached a global audience of over 100 million people, generating INR 95 million in funding for tiger conservation. Notably, numerous children have actively participated in rallies, elevating tiger conservation in India's collective awareness.

  • Conservation Dogs Unit

The Conservation Dogs Units (CDU) of WCT consist of four specially trained working dogs and a skilled staff. These dogs play a crucial role in detecting target species, gathering indirect evidence, and aiding in wildlife conservation and anti-poaching efforts. The CDU supports various tasks, including human-wildlife interface management, conservation research, road ecology surveys, disease surveillance, and wildlife law enforcement. Deployed in corridor conservation and conflict-related projects, these conservation dogs have demonstrated high effectiveness.

  • Health Camps for Communities Programme

In the buffer zones of selected Protected Areas, WCT conducted regular health camps every 15 days through the 'Arogya Plus' initiative. These camps aimed to offer vital primary healthcare services to women, children, and the elderly, addressing issues such as adolescent health, de-addiction, cataract, and chronic diseases. Additionally, the camps facilitated communication on wildlife conservation and sustainable development.
