Programs

  • Human & Institutional Development Resource Centre

In 1999, the Human & Institutional Development Resource Center (HIDRC) was formally established. Before this, Janvikas had been providing training, fellowships, and OD process facilitation to young professionals, community leaders, and civil society organizations. The goal of HIDRC, a strategic division of Janvikas, is to support civil society organizations, issue-based networks, young professionals, and community leaders so they can organize a concerted effort to combat injustice, inequality, and oppression and pave the way for the creation of a more just, equitable, and secular society.

    State
    States

    Gujarat

Children from marginalized areas no longer have access to inclusive, high-quality education in government institutions as education has been moved into the grasping hands of profit-driven corporate ideologies. Following the 2002 violence in Gujarat, when children were disproportionately affected, the Udaan education project was launched. Children quit attending mainstream schools as a result of estrangement and terror. Janvikas started a number of actions, including the opening of schools and learning centers in and around some of the areas impacted by the war. The Right to Education Act (RTE) 2009 went into effect in 2010, and Udaan has since concentrated on enhancing the efficiency of government elementary schools by fortifying School Management Committees (SMCs) and recruiting volunteer edu-leaders.

  • Garima Programme

The community of scavengers is able to exercise their rights without facing discrimination on the basis of caste and lead a respectable life in society. Every kind of manual scavenging is eliminated, septic and subterranean tank cleaning is completely automated to avoid accidents, illnesses, and fatalities, and sweeping jobs are hygienic and safe.
