Child sponsor
The core focus of the Prayas Institute for Social Development has consistently revolved around sponsoring children, which involves supporting deserving and needy students to access education. Prayas highly values the emotional and moral backing extended to the child and their family, fostering a unique and nurturing bond among the sponsored child, their family, the sponsor, and the social worker. This relationship significantly contributes to shaping the child's personality, creating enduring connections that the child cherishes deeply.
The sponsorship program extends beyond academic progress, encompassing comprehensive education. It offers tailored coaching for weaker students, organizes summer camps, and conducts various extracurricular activities to groom and enhance the child's overall personality. Sponsorship, for us, implies facilitating the holistic development of the child into a well-rounded individual, not merely confined to academic achievements. -
Gyandeepak
Prayas holds the belief that education empowers women to seize opportunities that can positively impact both their own lives and those of their families. Education equips women with the necessary skills for workforce participation and fosters an understanding of their legal and reproductive rights. To address these concerns, Prayas operates literacy centres within the Old City of Hyderabad.
The region's economic structure intertwines with its conservative culture, enforcing traditional gender roles significantly. This dynamic contributes to men having more direct access to wage employment and control over financial resources, while women predominantly rely on male family members for economic sustenance. -
