Introduction & Background: We strive to bring about a significant positive change in the socioeconomic status of rural society by offering quali Read morety education to deserving youth. With more support from generous sponsors, we can make a difference in the lives of many deserving students. On September 25, 2006, we started Agaram Foundation with one clear vision: no deserving poor child in India should be left behind without a college education. As Nelson Mandela once famously said, ‘Education is the most powerful weapon with which you can change the world.’ It is the tool that can facilitate social equality in a deeply fragmented society, empowering not individuals but generations to come. What we do: • Make quality education available to deserving candidates by supporting them to overcome both financial and social barriers. We focus on providing appropriate learning opportunities to the rural population who otherwise do not have access to quality education. • Facilitate a space for holistic learning that doesn’t restrict itself to formal education, but rather contributes to the overall development of the student. • Empower a new generation of youth with education, making them socially responsible adults with values, commitment and dedication to society. What is Vidhai? The programme will provide college education to Socio-economically deprived students who are first-generation learners from rural government schools. Agaram will assist them with education, accommodation & Food, training, employability and social sensitization. Who is Vidhai for: Every year, we reach out to deserving students from the most backward parts of the state. Students who approach Agaram for educational aid come from different walks of life and come with impoverished challenging family backgrounds. These children are constrained by communal beliefs and practices that range from parental negligence, resistance to educating girl child, underage marriage etc. These inherently pose major challenges for the students in pursuit of success. Programs

  • Agaram Vidhai

Agaram was established with the express goal of enabling the poor to benefit from a quality education. It has attempted to assist the most vulnerable children in Tamilnadu, who are primarily first-generation students attending rural government schools.

Thousands of applications for financial aid for higher education are received by Agram annually. A strict grading system is used to determine whether students are worthy. Many institutions offer assistance to students during the application and admissions process. Additionally, they receive assistance in managing other financial and logistical needs, such as lodging, mess expenses, etc.

  • Agram Mentoring

Through the teaching of academic and nonacademic skills, the Agaram Mentorship program seeks to develop students on a comprehensive level. Through the mentorship program, Agaram gives each student individualized attention by matching them with a mentor—someone who is not a parent or teacher but rather someone who values education and the potential of each kid to succeed.
