Population, Consumption, and Environment (PCE) Pilot Project
The Population, Consumption, and Environment (PCE) pilot project, backed by DANIDA from 1995 to 2001, was a significant initiative in Manaparai Taluk. It encountered no financial or manpower challenges and received cooperation from both government departments and the community. Notably, it fostered leadership, particularly among rural women, and raised awareness about government healthcare facilities, challenging preconceptions. Through user groups and village-level forums, it empowered people with knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, contributing to community development and cohesion.
